Next Steps
You have configured your Companion, and the first steps are complete.
Now it is no longer about settings. It is about discovering MeshCore and finding out how you want to use it.
Take a look around
Your Companion automatically listens to the network around you.
You may already receive messages, see other participants, or discover Repeaters in your region. Sometimes it takes a little while for a new device to learn about its surroundings – especially in a landscape shaped by hills and valleys.
Every region has its own character. In the Rhön, this means that some connections happen directly, while others are made through more distant locations and Repeaters.
Take MeshCore with you
MeshCore is not tied to a specific place.
A Companion is small and easy to carry. It fits into a backpack, a pocket, or the glove compartment of your car and can accompany you in everyday life, while hiking, on trips, or while travelling – or simply when going shopping.
Especially in places where traditional mobile coverage is not reliably available, independent communication shows why MeshCore can be interesting.
Find your own way to use it
Some people use MeshCore occasionally while travelling, others exchange messages regularly. Some become interested in technology, antennas, or operating a Repeater.
There is no single right way.
A Companion alone already makes you a participant in the network.
If you want to explore further
Over time, new possibilities may arise:
- You want to get to know other users.
- You want to learn more about the technology.
- You want to share your own experiences.
- You want to contribute to the infrastructure.
All of this is optional.
The first step is simple: take your Companion with you and discover what is possible.
