Meshcore

RhönMesh uses MeshCore as the foundation for regional communication.

RhönMesh is not a separate communication system or its own technology. It is a regional use of an open, decentralised communication system.

MeshCore enables people to communicate without requiring a central infrastructure. Small personal devices, called Companions, can communicate with each other and use Repeaters to bridge greater distances.

The focus is not on the technology itself, but on the ability to connect people.

How does MeshCore work?

A Companion is your personal access point to the network. Through the Companion App, you can exchange messages and use your device without having to understand technical details first.

Repeaters extend the reach of the network. They are operated at suitable locations and forward messages between different areas.

This creates a network that is supported by many individual devices and locations.

Why MeshCore?

MeshCore follows a different approach than traditional communication services.

It is not about providing another platform or another online service. Instead, communication develops wherever people operate devices and connect with each other.

This makes MeshCore particularly interesting for regions with wide landscapes, activities outside dense infrastructure, and anyone interested in independent communication.
